Vad kul att ni gillar dom! Det är såklart alltid roligast när det man gör uppskattas.
Jag har lovat att skriva en vävnota, till den som vill väva själv. För att inte dra ut på det här för länge, det verkar alltid dyka upp nya arbetsuppgifter såhär före jul, så kan du som är intresserad skriva upp dej på mitt nyhetsbrev.
Det kommer inte att bli särskilt många utskick, kanske 4-5 per år. Men jag lovar att det blir en länk till vävnotan i första numret efter jul.

Desiree, thank-you for referring us to The Handweaver’s Pattern Directory (Anne Dixon). My copy has arrived and the overshot patterns are there in detailed weaving drafts. I like the way Dixon classifies weave structures into basic threadings, block drafts, lace, and special threadings; it helps to make sense of it all.

I don’t think I’m there yet. It’s all still confusing too me. And hard to translate too the Swedish drafts…

Yes; I also wish the draft format was orientated differently.
And, Dixon’s numbered squares in the Treadling order/plan seem to work as a kind of shorthand, a bit like a profile draft. I hope this is the case; I guess I’ll find out when I use one of the drafts.

All isn’t written in the draft. You (sorry I don’t have the right words) make one tubby and one overshot, all the way. Tubby in the warp, and overshot with the rag.

That’s useful to know, Desiree. So you use rag in the pattern weft, and (warp) yarn in the ground (Tabby) weft.
As it happens, I’m currently weaving a Monk’s Belt pattern which uses a similar technique; i.e. thicker yarn in the pattern weft and (warp) yarn in the ground (Tabby) weft.
I like these traditional weave structures very much; they’re very ‘eye-catching’.

P.S. I’ve just previewed what I have written (in English) and the translation seems to have introduced an extra ‘and’ between pattern_weft, and capitalized the letter ‘w’.
